Madhavapeddi Satyam ((テルグ語:మాధవపెద్ది సత్యం); 11 March 1922 – 18 December 2000) was a renowned Telugu singer and stage-actor from the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He entered into films as a singer-actor in Y.V. Rao's Tamil-Hindi Biligual movie Ramadas in the year 1946. He played the role of Kabir. In a five-decade long career he has sung numerable songs of which few have become hugely popular like "Vivaha Bhojanambu", from the film Maya Bazar for S.V Ranga Rao, and "Ayyayyo Jebulo Dabbulu Poyene", from the film ''Kulagothralu'' for Ramana Reddy.
He died in Chennai on 18 December 2000, at the age of 78.
==Early life and background==
Madhavapeddi Satyam was born in 11 March 1922 at Brahmanakoduru village in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh.
He is the son of late Sri Madhavapeddi Lakshmi Narasiah and Late Smt. Sundaramma. From his childhood he showed immense love for singing and acting in dramas, inspiration being his Paternal uncle late Sri Madhavapeddi Venkatramayya, a well noted dramatist. He started portraying different roles in drama and one of them "Chalo Delhi" a social drama in which his singing, acting and music calibre was brought out for the first time in Madras (now Chennai). Spotted by the veteran Director-Producer late Y.V. Rao in the year 1946, Satyam was very fortunate to get the golden opporotunity of acting as Kabir in Y.V. Rao's film ''Ramadas'' and also singing 3 songs in this bilingual film in Tamil and Hindi under the musical supervision of late C.R. Subbaraman.
Immediately followed his entry into the Telugu Film Industry with his first Telugu song "Manasu Gaadha Khudha Thodai.." along with the King of Melodies late Sri Ghantasala for the film ''Laila Majnu'' in the year 1949. He sang a great song for late S.v. ranga rao in maya bazar film and it was well received by audience.
